For my senior design project, I and a group of three others designed and build a transportable, solar powered refrigeration unit with a holding volume of one cubic foot that could sustain an inside temperature of 25 degrees Celsius.
The transportation and storing of items such as perishable foods, organs, sensitive equipment and pharmaceuticals all require some level of temperature control. In underdeveloped areas where an external power can be difficult to access, there is a need for refrigeration utilizing alternative power sources. To precipitate a viable solution, American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) proposed a design competition that requires university students to design a refrigeration unit that solves the aforementioned problem.
In order to solve the problem in a feasible manor, the following guide lines were put forth by ASHRAE. First, the temperature inside the unit needs to be maintained at 25°F (-4°C) while it is in operation. Second, the volume of refrigerated space must be 1’ x 1’ x 1’ (30cm x 30cm x 30cm). Third, the volume and weight of the entire unit must be minimized. This guideline was loosely defined by the statement that the unit, “should fit inside a car”. Fourth, the unit should be easily transportable by one or two people or with light machinery. Finally, the refrigerator must be equipped with a self-sustaining power pack to provide for operation during day or night. To find out more about this project, Click Here
Used Html5 and css3 to design and construct the Metro East Heating and Cooling website. By navigating through the website, customers can learn more about the history of the Metro East Heating and Cooling company, view the products offered and read more about the services provided. While designing the website, the goal was to keep it simple and consistent throughout the different pages yet make it simple and easy for customers to quickly find relevant information. The website included a main navigation bar, a home page, a contact page, a product page, a services page and finally a review page. To view the website, Click Here
Used Java to develop a business related application. The application allows the user to click on the "Quarter" or "Dollar" button to enter his desire amount. At this point, the user can decide to click the "refund" button which would display a message screen stating that the money has been refunded and it resets the money text field to zero dollars. If the user enter one dollar or more, the soda buttons will appear giving the user the choice to select one of the products offered. As the user clicks on one of the soda button, a text field appears telling the user to enjoy the soda. At the same time, the money text field is reset to the proper amount. Once the user has less then one dollar on the "Money Text Fields" all the soda buttons become disabled again. Finally, the application keeps track of how many sodas the user has selected. The user can only select up to 10 bottles per soda. If the user tries to select more then 10, a message filed will appear stating that the is out of inventory. To view this application, Click Here
