SIUE Cheer and Dance
Who Are We?
The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) Cheer and Dance Team is a Division I Spirit Squad comprised of two components: cheer/stunt athletes and technically-trained dancers. The two teams are committed to working together to promote SIUE Athletics by creating a cooperative spirit between the teams, the student body, and the athletics community. Both components are administered through the SIUE Intercollegiate Athletics Department. Our goal is to support Cougar Athletics, enhance game excitement, and encourage crowd involvement. The team is coached by Michelle Deets, and assisted by Casey Fields and Emily Gaehle.

Members of the Cheer and Dance Team must be enrolled for a minimum of 12 hours per semester, maintaining a minimum 2.0 GPA to be eligible.
