Women in Mathematics WebQuest - Evaluation Rubric

 

A total of 24 points is possible for the WebQuest.  The following rubric will be used to assign points in each of 8 categories.  If you have any questions, please see me after class or email me (jusimms@siue.edu).

   Questions:

       Creativity   Questions are unique, thorough, and creative in nature.   Questions are thorough, and at least two or three are creative.   Questions are adequate for basic information.   Questions are inadequate for even basic information about the mathematician.
   Report:        
       Creativity   Report is presented in a unique, creative way.   Report is presented adequately and is somewhat creative in nature.   Report is presented adequately, but is not creatively written.   Report displays no creativity, or no report is turned in.
       Content   Report is thorough and informative.   Report includes basic information and a few extra facts and/or events in the life of the mathematician.   Report includes basic information about the mathematician.   Information in the report is false, or no report is turned in.
       Life Application   Report includes a strong connection  (positive or negative) between the mathematician's life and that of the student.   Report includes an adequate connection between mathematician's life and that of the student.    Report includes a weak connection between mathematician's life and that of the student.   Report does not show a connection between mathematician's life and that of the student.
       Format   Report is word-processed and double-spaced.   Report is word-processed, but not double-spaced.   Report is legibly hand-written.   Report is illegible or is not turned in.
       Grammar   Correct grammar is used,   including spelling and punctuation.   No more than two or three errors in spelling and punctuation.   Between four and six errors in spelling and punctuation.   Over six errors in spelling and punctuation or not turned in.
       Punctuality   Turned in on time     Turned in up to 1 class period late.   Turned in more than 1 class period late or not turned in.
