My Story
On June 19, 2004, my mother's 40th birthday, she was diagnosed with colon cancer. Though I was only in 6th grade, I remember everything vividly; the surgery, the chemo... all of it. Exactly 10 years later, my mother was diagnosed again; only this time with thyroid cancer. This time around, we felt luckier; she didn't need chemo or radiation, just a surgery and a small pill once-a-day. However, our luck ran out again only 8 weeks after surgery, when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in October of 2014.
Throughout all of this going on in my personal life, I have been on leadership for St. Jude Up 'til Dawn, an event for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at my University. I have visited the kids of St. Jude in Memphis multiple times and am able to experience all the good that they do.
Because of these major events in my life and my involvement with cancer research, I decided that I would start purchasing more "cancer gear" to help my mom and these kids in their battle. "Cancer gear" is anything you can purchase that benefits some sort of cancer research or has a benefit for cancer patients. For instance, St. Jude has an entire gift shop that 100% of the proceeds go back to benefit the hospital. However, I didn't want to give to only one charity, but there wasn't a website that listed all of them. That is how this site came to be; on this site you will find various links to outside websites selling clothes that benefit cancer. Please return often, as our sites and links change frequently to accomodate the many organizations involved in benefitting lives affected by cancer.
