| Prior to the Fall 1995 semester, I achieved
Graduate I faculty status at SIUE. As a Graduate I faculty member
I have had the opportunity to serve on thesis and project committees
for graduate level nursing students. At this time I have provided
direction and support to graduate students by being a chair on 17
of their committees and a member of 27 committees, for a total of
44 graduate committees completed for graduation with a MS degree.
As a result of my influence and encouragement, several of these theses/projects
resulted in published articles, paper and poster presentations.
My research expertise for theses/project topics includes medical-surgical
areas, various aspects of women's health, especially weight loss
and maintaining weight loss, teaching and learning in higher education,
nursing education, student success, student retention, study and
academic skills, development of survey tools and qualitative research
methods. My schedule will allow the addition of several theses/project
committees during the 2003-2004 academic year.
