March is Early Music Month and this presentation by Early Music Missouri is supported by an Outreach Grant from Early Music America. Thank you to Early Music America for their generous support! Here is a handout they have prepared for us to learn about these special instruments.

Review Lists
Follow this link to access the Workshop Review List. Our more advanced students will also be asked to learn pieces from outside the Suzuki repertoire; they will be sent to you when you register.
Linstead Market is a supplemental piece we are using for everyone Twinkle level and up, arranged for us by our very own violin and viola teacher, Vicki Lottes! You'll be sent sheet music for it when you register if you're not in our SIUE Suzuki Program. Here is a recording of it, and a Linstead Market Twinkle to help practice the challenging syncopated rhythm! (Many thanks to SIUE Suzuki teacher Kim Gindler, and her husband Randy, for making these recordings!)

Master Classes
Master Classes are like a short lesson with one of our guest clinicians- they are a wonderful chance to hear some new ideas, hear old ideas communicated in a new way, and have a very focused experience to bring your playing to a higher level through a piece you already know well. Master Classes will be arranged in small groups of 3-4 students in an hour, and each student will receive 15-20 minutes of the class while then observing their classmates' lessons for the rest of the time. Master Classes are not a time to learn notes to a new piece; make sure to bring a piece that is already polished so the clinician can focus on you and your playing- not notes! The extra fee for any student enrolling in a Master Class is $35.

Teacher Symposium
As part of our workshop, we host a teacher symposium for the continuing education of our area teachers- and this year, thanks to Zoom, we are happy to offer it to anybody who wants to join us from wherever you live! This year, it will be held on Friday, March 3, from 4:30-6:30 PM. Lynnette Khoo-Summers will present. Khoo-Summers, a leading physical therapist who specializes in Musician Injury prevention and rehabilitation, will talk to us about setting our students (and ourselves) up to play safely, common injuries and how to prevent them, and teach us some exercises that we can practice during the workshop to help keep ourselves and our students playing without pain. Bring your instruments, and your questions! The Symposium will be offered via Zoom as well for those who are not able to travel to SIUE.
Register for the Teacher Symposium here: SIUE Suzuki Teacher Symposium Registration
Deadline to register will be February 25.
