SIUE Jazz Camp
The SIUE Summer Jazz Camp is available for students of all experience levels in middle through high school. Campers will learn performance and improvisation techniques from faculty members in the SIUE jazz department.
- Students will work on the fundamentals of jazz improvisation with some of the areas top performers and educators through large group/big band rehearsals, small group/combo rehearsals, master classes, jam sessions and other course offerings.
Camp Notes:
- The first day of camp will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, July 13. If you still have paperwork to submit, it is recommended that you arrive early.
- Each day begins at 9:30 a.m. The daily schedule will consist of group rehearsals, master classes and jam sessions.
- Family and friends are invited to the concluding concert at 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, in Dunham Hall, Room 1115.
- Parents may begin picking up morning attendees at noon and afternoon attendees at 3:45 p.m. each day.
- If you purchased a parking tag, you may park in Lot E. All others should pay to park in the visitor's lot. For a printable map of campus, visit siue.edu/maps.
- Camp attendees have the option to purchase or bring their own lunch. During lunch, students will be escorted as a group to the food court on campus. For more information on campus dining, visit siue.edu/dining.
- This year a residential option is available for overnight campers. Students can stay on campus under the supervision of camp counselors. Activities will be planned by counselors and may include sand volleyball, movie night and more. Dinners can be purchased at the MUC or the counselors can order delivery for campers. Please bring your own pillow, blanket, and overnight amenities.
