University Housing Announcements

Annual Bike Clean Up!

In an effort to properly maintain the bicycle racks within University Housing, we annually ask residents to cooperate with the Housing Staff so that abandoned bicycles can be removed from the bicycle racks and thus creating adequate space for current resident bikes.

ALL bikes without a numbered tag were removed from the bike racks on Monday, June 18th, 2018.  If you are missing a bicycle, please visit the Cougar Village Commons front desk. You will need to provide a description of your bike and the location where your bike was stored. Confiscated bicycles will be stored for 30 days and then taken to the University surplus property.

Reminder from the University Housing Living Guide

Bicycles and other personal property left outside or improperly stored in the storage closets on the Cougar Village 500 side, in any hallway, breezeway, stairwell or apartment will be removed without notice and held for two weeks by University Housing Facilities Management. These items present a fire hazard in the storage areas due to the electrical equipment housed there and a safety hazard in hallways, breezeways, and stairwells. If items are reclaimed, a $25.00 charge will be issued at the time or reclamation.

If you have any questions regarding this process, please contact:  Ryan Van Loo at 618-650-2964 or rvanloo@siue.edu

Close the Building Doors!

In an effort to prevent wildlife from entering the apartments, University Housing asks that you keep your doors closed and the doors entering the apartment buildings.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Important Housing Information

Policies – YOU NEED TO KNOW!

Facilities Issue?  Put in a workorder!

University Housing Facilities Management (UHFM) is the unit assigned to the development and maintenance of University Housing facilities and grounds. UHFM is responsible for repairing housing units, care of the grounds surrounding housing facilities, performs snow removal, maintains the cleanliness of common areas and offices in University Housing buildings, oversees pest control and much more.

In the event of any building or grounds related issues, Students need to initiate the repair by submitting a Maintenance Request to University Housing Facilities Management (UHFM). UHFM responds to student initiated repair requests as a first priority.  To complete a work order, click HERE!!!

Get protected!  Insure yourself and your belongings!

University Housing does not insure the personal property of residents. Residents are strongly encouraged to insure their personal belongings while living in University Housing. Students can look into renter’s insurance or their parent/guardian homeowners’ policy for potential coverage options.
