Additional Flu Shot Clinic Scheduled, Nov. 2

Health Service is pleased to offer a final flu vaccine clinic to faculty, staff, retirees and students.

10 a.m.-Noon
Wednesday, Nov. 2
WALK IN Flu Shot Clinic
Lower Level of the Student Success Center, room 0204

Please plan to wear clothing for easy access to the upper arm injection site.

The Walk-In Clinic will be held in the Lower Level of the Student Success center. We have a limited supply. Please consider getting your flu shot with us!

Current SIUE students (that present their SIUE ID) may receive the immunization at a cost of $15 (cash or check).

Through the State of Illinois contract, we are able to provide flu shots to employees and retirees who are the primary insurer in a State sponsored insurance plan at no charge. Employees must document the last four digits of your social security number, present your university ID and your state health insurance card in order to receive the vaccine at no charge. Retirees must present your state health insurance card and document the last four digits of their social security number in order to receive the vaccine at no charge.

Employees not covered under a State health plan and dependents (18 years or older) of eligible employees may receive the immunization at a cost of $30 (cash or check).

Thank you for participating in this important health program.

Please Give to SECA's Charitable Fund Drive

SIUE employees have been very generous in their efforts to support charitable agencies. SECA (State and University Employees Combined Appeal) Charitable Fund Drive provides all employees the opportunity to donate to the charitable causes of their choice to enhance the quality of life for all.

Twelve organizations will be part of this year’s campaign: American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, Community Shares of Illinois, Community Health Charities, EarthShare, Special Olympics, United Way, United Negro College Fund, Global Impact, Independent Charities of America, Black United Fund of Illinois and America’s Charities.

For more information regarding this year’s drive, including agency/charity codes and to fill out the online pledge form, please visit SECA donation form. You can also request a paper pledge form by calling Human Resources at 650-2190. The form should be completed by Wednesday, Nov. 2 and returned to: SECA Fund Drive, Box 1040, Edwardsville, IL, 62026-1040.

Please note that you do not have to submit a 2016 pledge form to continue an existing contribution through payroll deduction. However, even though all payroll deductions submitted by SIUE display the employee’s name and amount per charity, the SECA campaign uses the annual pledge forms to communicate with the sub charities that receive donations from larger charities. We have been informed that when subsequent year donations are sent to the appropriate sub charity, the charity notes the donation received from SIUE staff, but does not break it out by employee. This does not affect the tax deductibility of an employee's charitable donation. Per SECA, if an employee wants the charity to credit specific donations with their name, a new pledge form must be completed each year.

The State of Illinois regulations limit your use of payroll deduction to a maximum of four organizations. If you want to donate to additional agencies through SECA, you may do so by check or money order.

We thank you on behalf of each of the agencies and the many families and individuals who will be helped by your kind generosity. Your consideration of this annual fund drive is appreciated.

For more information about this year’s charitable fund drive, please contact Human Resources at 650-2190.
