Behind Closed Doors: Exploring Persistent Workplace Aggression Workshop, Oct. 28

"Behind Closed Doors: Exploring persistent workplace aggression, the impact and solutions for organizations" workshop is being presented by Dr. Jan Kircher:

9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 28
LeClair Room, N.O. Nelson Campus
600 Troy Road
Edwardsville
6 CEU’s Workshop

A leading expert in persistent workplace aggression, Dr. Jan Kircher has a PhD in sociology, an MSW, more than 20 years of experience in diverse organizational settings, and is currently expanding her services to introduce preventative workshops and programming into organizations at-risk of employing potential aggressors.

Kircher has spent the last 15 years of her career in higher education and has presented locally, regionally and nationally across the U.S. for mental health and health workers, administrators, academics and other professionals.

During her career, Kircher became aware of a social phenomenon called academic and/or workplace bullying after seeing the first-hand damages of persistent workplace aggression on organizational culture and after receiving email requests from individuals all over the world who have been targets, seeking advice and support.

In response to mounting concerns and a lack of accessible training, Kircher founded Support to Transform Organizational Practice, a consulting firm aimed at support, training and education to enable organizations to identify, respond and prevent persistent workplace aggression. She is one of few in the U.S. who addresses persistent workplace aggression, and is the only one who speaks to the organizational accountability in effectively solving this issue.

Kircher has developed state-of-the-art and unique strategies for organizations and individuals to deal with persistent workplace aggression.

After this workshop, participants will:
• Understand what persistent workplace aggression is and who it involves
• Identify the behaviors associated with persistent workplace aggression
• Understand the impact that workplace aggression has on targets, bystanders and the environment
• Identify factors that put organizations at risk
• Identify effective strategies used to manage and prevent persistent workplace aggression
