Woodard, Knobloch Named to Ohio Valley Conference Runners to Watch List
BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – The Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) announced its men's and women's cross country runners to watch for the 2026 season Wednesday, with SIUE represented by junior Erica Woodard from the women's team and freshman Christian Knobloch from the men's team.
Last season, Woodard set a new personal best in the 5K at the SEMO Redhawk Invite with a time of 18:35.0, and placed 16th overall in the 6k event at the OVC Championships with a time of 22:08.7.
Knobloch, who is entering his first collegiate cross country season, was a two-time finisher in the IHSA Class 2A State Cross Country Championships, placing 55th in 2023 and 66th in 2024, and helped lead Highland HS to two conference championships.
The Cougars will now turn their attention toward the 2026 season, beginning with an intrasquad race this Friday, August 28, before heading to Cape Girardeau, Missouri, for the SEMO Redhawk Invite on September 4th.
