Duda Named Chair of ASHRAE Publications Committee
The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) has appointed Stephen W. Duda, PE, from the Department of Construction at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville School of Engineering to serve as chair of its Publications Committee.
ASHRAE is an international organization of more than 50,000 professionals from over 132 nations. Duda’s one-year term began July 1 and continues through June 30, 2027.
The Tier I instructor is eager to share his knowledge with shaping college texts.
“I am passionate about the engineering of building mechanical systems and its most relevant professional organization, ASHRAE, so I eagerly accepted the appointment and look forward to the challenge,” said Duda. “One area where I feel I can help the Publications Committee is identifying gaps in college-ready textbooks in building services engineering and identifying resources to fill those gaps.”
ASHRAE’s Publications Committee oversees editorial and operational activities for ASHRAE books and special publications, ASHRAE Journal and ASHRAE Insights newsletters.
Duda holds recognition with ASHRAE as a Fellow, a Distinguished Service Award recipient, and George B. Hightower Technical Achievement Awardee.
