Teaching Assistantship (2956-2026)

Qualifications

  • Required: Currently enrolled as a graduate student within a SIUE School of Nursing graduate program; Unencumbered United States Registered Nurse (RN) License; Must have a minimum 3.0 overall GPA
  • - Preferred but not required: Experience working in critical care as an RN; experience conducting tutoring, Peer Led Team Learning, or Supplemental Instruction

Position Description

- Provide support for nursing students through one-on-one tutoring and conduct small group study sessions.

- Prepare materials and strategies to reinforce course content, study skills, and critical thinking.

- Communicate consistently with the course professor, students, and coordinator of nursing student success.

- Promote academic support sessions.

- Complete required training and attend all team and staff meetings.

  • -Submit paperwork and Starfish documentation in a timely manner.
  • - Be flexible and comfortable working in both in-person and online environments.
  • - Applicant must possess strong time management, leadership, and communication skills.
  • - Must demonstrate a commitment to upholding academic integrity.
