Sub Teams
Cougar Formula Racing has split up bits of the car into sub-teams to let everyone get a chance to work on something different. We have our officers, Powertrain, chassis, suspension, marketing, and aero.
Powertrain
Powertrain directs the design and development of the engine or electric propulsion system, drivetrain, cooling, and fuel or battery systems. Oversees testing and reliability improvements and ensures performance goals are met.
Chassis
Chassis oversees the design, analysis, manufacturing, and integration of the chassis subsystem. Ensures compliance with safety and FSAE requirements. Coordinating closely with other subsystem leads for packaging and structural compatibility.
Suspension
The Suspension team manages the design, fabrication, and testing of the vehicle’s suspension and steering systems. Ensures alignment with vehicle dynamics objectives and collaborates with chassis and powertrain teams for integration.
Marketing
Marketing is all about getting the club more attention. We make social media posts to show off the car and events we go to. We also are in charge of getting sponsors so we can upgrade the car.
Aero
The Aerodynamics team is responsible for the design, analysis, and testing of aerodynamic components such as bodywork, wings, undertrays, and diffusers. Ensures aerodynamic solutions align with performance goals and coordinates wind tunnel or simulation testing.
