The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Club Sports program is a group of student organizations that provide programs for instruction, recreation or competition in a specific sport or physical activity. The Club Sports program is housed in the Department of Campus Recreation at SIUE to provide students greater access to the resources at the University.
The Cougar Creed As a member of the SIUE community, I pledge to uphold honorable and high standards. I commit to participating in a friendly and open academic community. While practicing personal and academic integrity, I will respect the dignity of all people and the rights and property of others. I will demonstrate concern for others and their need for conditions and support their work and development. I will strive to achieve academic and personal success and make a positive impact on my campus and community. From this day forward, I will refrain from and discourage behaviors which threaten freedom and respect that every individual deserves.

The Club Sports program contributes to the overall learning process of organization, administration, leadership and professional development for each student involved. To reinforce this learning opportunity, Campus Recreation takes on an advisory role to provide consultation in the continuing development of the student and the club. SIUE affiliated clubs often travel the nation to compete against various schools, clubs and associations of the same sport or interest. Club members must keep in mind that they are affiliated with SIUE, so proper representation at all times is essential to their continued existence and support.
The Club Sports program is open to all SIUE students. All individuals are encouraged to join and/or form a club of their own. For more information on how to join any of the clubs or possibly start your own club, please contact the Club Sports Office at (618) 650-3274 or Phil Leyere (firstname.lastname@example.org)
