The European Studies minor at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville is an interdisciplinary program drawn from subject areas in the social sciences and the humanities. The courses focus on Western and Eastern Europe across time periods.
Most countries of Europe are joined together into the European Union, one of the world's great trading blocks. Knowledge of this region is very important for careers with an international focus. Europe is also the source of many great artists, composers, writers, scientists, and experts in many fields. European immigrants have played an important role in the development of America.
