International Practicum Prepares for its ninth Year
2011 will mark the ninth year of an innovative initiative to provide an international practicum experience to SIUE MA students specializing in teaching English as a second language.  Each year, SIUE students have had the opportunity to travel abroad to complete a four to five-week international practicum. This year's practicum will be held at the University of Lleida in Lleida, Spain.  This type of teaching experience is very important for students, because many of the highest paid and most rewarding jobs in teaching English as a second language are in foreign countries, and those students who have had training and previous experience in teaching outside the United States are at a distinct advantage for these jobs.
