I am a mass communications graduate from Lewis and Clark Community College in Godfrey, Illinois and I am interested in working as a sports broadcaster. I’ve interned at a local AM station in Alton, Illinois WBGZ. I learned how to conduct field sports interviews with high school and college athletes as well as writing stories so when the clips were used on the air the person using them would understand what went on even though they weren’t at the game. I also learned production while cutting the sound bites from the sports interviews.

The first sports event I broadcasted live on air was in December of 2009. Since that time, I have helped LCTV broadcast their basketball games, performed play by play and color commentary for high school and Lewis and Clark sporting events for WLCA. I also helped revive the sports department at WLCA, which had been vacant for two years. WLCA broadcasted nine football games on the air throughout the football season. During the season I interviewed head coaches to find out how they game planned for those games. I’ve also host WLCA’s weekly Saturday sports show which recaps all Saint Louis area sports ranging from high school, to pro from the past week while taking a look ahead to the next week. Steve Porter from the Alton Telegraph is a weekly guest on the show. Other guests have included Jamie Eisenburg of CBS sports, Mike Spears of Yahoo! Sports, and Ben Nicholson-Smith of MlbTradeRumors.com.
