Current Projects

  • I am currently working on a Home Page Creation Project for CMIS 108.  This project calls for me to have a Main Page Container, Table of Contents, personal information, and a Favorite Links page.
  • I have a major paper due in Sociology 111; it is a group project discussing controversial or current sociological issues.   My group has been assigned the topic of whether or not as a nation we are more religious now than in times in our past.
  • I have a play review to write for my Dramatic Experience class.  I have to go see the play “The Pirates of Penzance”.

Biographical Information

My name is Victor Hicks.  I was born and raised in East St. Louis, Illinois.  I graduated from Lincoln Sr. High School in 1995.  I enrolled at SIUE in the fall of 1995 and remained until the fall of 1996.   At that time I was music major and I was a member of the SIUE Concert Chorale and the Jazz Vocal Ensemble.  I also served as a youth minister under Pastor, Dr.  Levi R. King Sr. at the First Bible Fellowship Apostolic Church in

Edgemont, Illinois.

In 1996 I began to write, record, and perform gospel music locally and around the country.  In September of 1998 I married my high school sweetheart, Earlene (Coney) Hicks.  We have four wonderful

children; Victor Jr., Noah, Autumn, and Lorraine.  In July of 2002 we began Hope Central Ministries.   A local

fellowship of Christian believers sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.   We began the ministry in Alorton, Illinois

reaching out to the community with the message of salvation and love to meet the needs of those who were

in need.

In June of 2005 Hope Central Ministries moved to St. Ann, Missouri where we are currently located.

I returned to SIUE in the fall of 2005 to finish earning my Bachelor’s degree in History Education with a minor

in music and sociology.  I hope to further my education and earn both my Master’s and PhD in history and teach on the colligate level.    The greatest experience I have had in my life is allowing Jesus to become Lord of my life; I offer you salvation in that name as well.  For further information use the contact info above.  God bless.

Personal Interests

  • My favorite personal interest is reading, studying, and teaching the Bible.  I believe it is the Word of God.  I believe it contains the greatest truths mankind can ever learn.
  • I love music.  My favorite is gospel music, that music that tells of the birth, life, death, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • I love spending time with my family and enjoying movies.
