Whether capturing the grit of an athlete or the beautiful moment when a butterfly emerges from her cocoon, my photographs are an expression of strength, inspiration, and the beauty in vulnerability. Photography has been a self-taught passionate hobby of mine for several years. I started photographing my children when they were toddlers, the old fashioned way, with a 35 mm film camera. My interest at that time was to develop black and white photos on fiber matte paper and hand tint them with transparent oil paints. As my children became involved with athletics, I eventually made the switch to digital, and began exploring the style of photography that I feel captures and inspires the heart of an athlete.
My journey has taken me from climbing trees and reading books, to being a competitive athlete, a health and fitness professional, nurse, wife, mother, and animal lover… with an ever-evolving passion for inspiration from things big and small.
