Welcome to my site! My name is Dillon Painter. I have been playing guitar for nine years. I took lessons for four years, played in several bands for a number of years, and have been teaching for the last two years.
Guitar has been a craft I have been working on for nearly a decade. When I first started playing, I figured it would be only a matter of time until I could shred and impress girls. I was very wrong. I did not take to guitar very naturally at all. It was something I became frustrated with, but then became influenced by my peers' playing enough that I forced myself to play for at least an hour every day.
Metal is probably my favorite genre to play on guitar! Because of its technical and often difficult structures, it easily took me the longest to learn. I eventually became comfortable enough to learn riffs from bands like Death, Atreyu, August Burns Red, At The Gates, Darkest Hour, Every Time I Die, and many more. Though metal is what I am most passionate about playing, I love playing blues, rock, jazz, and even some classical!
