Task;
Congratulations you just moved into your dream home, it is on a very
quiet street in a great part of town. Your life is looking good. Then
you find out from a neighborhood trustee that the government is going
to be putting a major interstate highway right next to your quiet
neighborhood. The trustees are holding a meeting about this new
development tonight, and you are going to be there. When you get to the
meeting you see many of your neighbors, some people from the department
of transportation, and several local politicians. Shortly after the
meeting starts it becomes clear that there is noway to stop this
highway. The main concerns are safety and NOISE. The department of
transportation people offer to have another meeting in one month to
address the safety and noise concerns. Because you are known as the
scientist of the neighborhood, the neighborhood trustees assign you
with the task of dealing with the noise. You have one month to find the
most cost effective way to block, divert, or eliminate the noise which
will be coming from this new highway. Prepare a full report of several
viable options, along with cost estimates and be ready for next month's
meeting.
