SIUE Student: English and Speech Communication (PR track)

I have several hobbies and activities that I enjoy doing.

1. 1. I really like to read novels and short stories. Currently, I am working on reading the great novels of the early modern era. This includes the works of Fitzgerald, Faulkner, Hemingway, etc. I have begun with Fitzgerald and have found my favorite book, The Great Gatsby. Reading his novel has given me a broader knowledge of literature and how it has come to be what it is today. I hope to finish with Tender is the Night by May and will then continue on to Faulkner. Exploring literature to make myself a more well-educated literary student is something I find very meaningful in my life.
3. 2. I have recently joined the SIUE Chapter of PRSSA. This organization has already opened up several doors for me. I have been able to network with professionals in the area, achieve a leadership position (historian for the 2013-2014 school year), and raise money for PRSSA’s Relay for Life team the Purple PRoject, in which I have a personal interest. I am anxious for what next year will bring and will hopefully be attending the PRSSA national conference in the fall.
2. 3. Lastly, I enjoy being active on campus and taking advantage of free activities with my roommate and friends. I love going to comedians, Cardinals games, trivia nights, and Buffalo Wild Wings. As mentioned, I love being busy and active and am lucky enough to have a roommate that is the same way. You will seldom find us just sitting around unless it is to do homework or finish the seven seasons of Gilmore Girls that we began earlier this year.
