My Life

Hi, my name is Jill Rackers. My hometown is Jefferson City, Missouri where I attended Helias Catholic High School. I am now a senior student-athlete at SIUE and a 4 year member of the SIUE softball team. My major is Mass Communications with a minor in Speech Communications.

I enjoy being involved in as many activities as I can. I am currently president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and a member of the Cougar Crew while also balancing an internship at BAM and a hectic softball season.

I have been involved in 4 internships since I began college in several different fields. My most recent internship is at Burns & Associates Management is a full service advertising company that has clients around the St. Louis area. I have learned so much in the few months I have been here about dealing with clients and how to create and maintian relationships within business.

The Cougar Crew is another internship I am currently active in through the SIUE Athletics Marketing Department. Here I am really getting an insight to sports marketing. The Rocket Group Inc. is a full service marketing company owned by Gus Wagner where I gained experience last summer. My first internship was with an event planning company out of Jefferson City that planned big events in town including Salute to America and Thursday Night Live. There is so much to learn when it comes to marketing, event planning, social media and more that I cannot wait to see where my schooling and career take me.

I enjoy trips to Colorado, any sport or outdoor activity you can think of, riding my horse Spanky, and spending time with my friends and family. Austin Bernskoetter and I are recently engaged and I couldn’t be happier and more excited to start planning the wedding!
