Why Chess
While Chess matches can take anywhere
from 10 minutes to two hours, they are enjoyable and can be used as
teaching tools. Chess forces you to think critically along with
thinking ahead. You cannot simply make a move without anticipating the
consequences and results that move may produce five or six moves later.
This is why matches can go on longer than expected. Both players are
thinking very hard and contemplating any and all possibilities. As
well, Chess contains concepts that are applicable to life in general.
By knowing how to play and engaging in regular play, you will find
yourself able to apply stronger critical thinking skills along with
having more confidence in your skills to play the game.
