Community College to include a GED component for all communities in the Northeast Region.

neighborhoods.
- Formalized the ties between block associations and Chamber
of Commerce to promote better relations between residents and neighborhood businesses.

Community Relations Specialist. Community Action
Program of Benton (1993-1996).
- Led the 1993 rent strike, which was successful in
motivating landlords to maintain their buildings in accordance with city codes and in
motivating city officials to regularly inspect properties for building code violations.
- Chairperson of the Committee for Community Safety. This
committee worked with regional and local law enforcement agencies to strengthen
cooperation between communities and local police, and to encourage more local
responsibility for public safety.
- Chairperson of the Educational Outreach Program. This
program established strong community relations with the Benton County Community College
and initiated compensatory programs for the disadvantaged.
