The Human Services Coordination Team is part of the State Services Department. Our mission is to work with citizens’ groups, private agencies, other public agencies, and the SSD’s own program divisions, to coordinate the targeting of social services and to increase citizen involvement in their delivery. A major part of this mission involves identifying individuals and groups that need specific services and assisting them in making claims on those best able to meet their needs.
The team’s activities are conducted in five regions, and the field staffs in each region are specialists in human support services. We’re here to help communities establish and maintain a network of support for the specific needs and desires of each community. Attention High School Students!
The Human Services Coordination Team has just begun a Human Services Internship program for high school students in their junior or senior year. These internship positions are for one or two semesters and allow students interested in a career in human services to work with one of our field professionals.
