Gracie Hayes
Gracie Hayes (violin) is a graduate student at SIUE and is working towards her Master of Music in Performance. She is currently studying under the tutelage of Dr. Lenora Anop. Before moving to Illinois, she studied with Dr. Penny Thompson Kruse, Dr. Caroline Chin, and Dr. Benjamin Hoffman at Bowling Green State University, where she holds a Bachelor of Music. Gracie has performed with various ensembles, most recently the Lima Symphony Orchestra, the Adrian Symphony Orchestra, the Fulton String Quartet at BGSU, the BGSU Philharmonia, and as concert master of the Ohio Northern University Symphony.
Gracie began playing violin at age four and has been passionate about music ever since. As a former Suzuki kid, she is thrilled to be a part of the Suzuki Program at SIUE. In addition to her position at the Suzuki Program, Gracie was also awarded the SIUE Competitive Graduate Award. With this award, Gracie will be researching music education and student development within the SIUE Suzuki Program. She looks forward to using her skills as a violinist and as an educator to inspire and guide students towards a greater appreciation of the arts.
