SIUE Summer Band Camp
The SIUE Summer Band Camp is available for any band students entering grades 6-10. Home-schooled students welcome.
Camp activities will focus on:
- Developing instrumental performance skills
- Exposure to varied music and musical activities
- Developing rhythmic and melodic reading skills
- Tone quality
- Intonation
- Phrasing
- And more!
Instruction is individualized through a large ensemble experience. Campers explore varied musical literature, ending with a final concert for family and friends.
New music education leadership opportunity for 2022!
The SIUE Summer Band Camp will accept band members in grades 11-12 who are considering becoming college music majors and who would like to both play in the band and experience unique leadership opportunities, including:
- Learning to lead sectionals
- Reading scores
- Learning basic conducting skills for concert ensembles
Ages/Grade Levels: Band Camp: Students entering grades 6-10
Band Leadership Experience: Students entering grades 11-12
When: Tuesday-Friday, July 5-8, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Where: SIUE Campus, Dunham Hall
Camp Fee: $150

Extended Camp Care
- Early drop off: 7-9 a.m.
- Late pick up: 3-6 p.m.
Pricing
- $55, morning or afternoon only
- $90, morning and afternoon
Depending on the option you choose, staff will be responsible for ensuring your camper arrives at camp on time and/or that they are picked up at the end of camp.
