Student Nurses Association
The Student Nurses Association (SNA) is a pre-professional organization for the American Nurses Association. SIUE member students participate in the 10th District Illinois Nurses Association.
SNA membership enables students to belong to the National and Illinois Student Nurses Association. Membership is open to students who are considering nursing as their major area of concentration or who have been accepted into the School of Nursing.
The Student Nurses Association provides an environment in which to connect with fellow nursing students, whether for support or to complete volunteer hours. Each membership comes with a free t-shirt. What's more, SNA always looks great on resumés! Learn more about the Student Nurses Association.
Student Nurse Achievement Program (SNAP)
The Student Nurse Achievement Program (SNAP) is a School of Nursing program designed to recruit racially, ethnically, and/or culturally diverse high school graduates and college students from disadvantaged backgrounds interested in pursuing a Bachelor of Science in nursing. Students are recruited from educationally underserved circumstances that limit opportunities for successful post-secondary education.
Students are our number one priority. Beginning in their freshman year, SNAP students receive faculty and peer support through mentorship programs, remediation and study groups. School of Nursing faculty advise and monitor student progress throughout the program, promoting academic and personal success.
Nursing Circle, the social/academic component of SNAP, allows students to plan and participate in social activities and community service opportunities throughout their time with the School of Nursing.
