SLDP - Leadership Lunch

Creating a Group Vision
September 19th
12pm - 1pm

The audience will engage with a short self-motivational presentation focused on creating a vision. Knowing that each individual has their own ideal vision of success, Robertson will provide his own identifying tips by way of presenting personal testimony. The audience will focus on how to recognize distractions, resilience, and personal faith. The purpose is for one to believe that bringing a vision to life requires a self-prescribed process. Pre-Career Fair Crash Course

Does the career fair seem overwhelming to you?  Then you need to attend this workshop on September 19 from 2:30-3:30 pm in the SSC 1201 to make the most of the upcoming career fair.  Hear tips on how to dress, networking, what to do before, during, and after the career fair.  Please call the Career Development Center at 618-650-3708 to reserve your spot today!

An Alternative Spring Break trip is available to students who wish to serve communities outside of their own during spring break. These overnight trips provide students with a unique and fulfilling volunteer experience bringing together service and civic engagement, reflection, and development of leadership skills. For more information on our domestic trips join us on 9/19 at 4:30pm in SSC 1201 or 9/25 at 2:30pm in SSC 1201!

Homecoming Court
Applications due September 17th, 4:30pm
Each year, student leaders are chosen to represent SIUE as members of the Homecoming Court. These individuals are selected by a panel that may consist of staff, faculty, students, and alumni. The court members are chosen based on their ability to exemplify the qualities of leaders and is due Monday, September 17th!  Sign up HERE!

Homecoming Spirit Contest
Applications due September 21st, 12:00pm

The Homecoming Planning Committee is proud to invite you to participate in this year’s Homecoming 2018 Spirit Contest! The spirit competition is a way for groups of students, Student Organizations and Fraternity and Sorority Life to get involved in Homecoming activities, get campus-wide recognition, win awesome CASH prizes, and show your “Cougar Spirit!”

This year’s contest will again have three categories: Student Teams, Student Organizations, and Fraternity and Sorority Life organizations. The team or the organization with the most points in each category will win a $300 cash prize and be presented a Spirit Trophy at halftime during the SIUE Men’s Soccer game on September 29 at Korte Stadium. The runners-up in each category will win a $200 cash prize.  For additional information and to sign up, visit HERE!

Homecoming Tailgate
Application due September 27th, 4pm
SIUE Student Organizations, starting today, Registered Student Organizations may come into the Kimmel Student Involvement Center (1st Floor of the MUC) to sign up for a reserved Homecoming Tailgating spot for the Men’s Soccer Homecoming Game on Saturday, September 29th, 3pm - 7pm.  Please note the following guidelines: 

  • Organizations must register in person for their assigned tailgating space in the Kimmel Student Involvement Center by Thursday, September 27, 2018, by 4pm.
  • Each organization is allowed no more than two (2) tailgating spaces (each space is approximately 15 feet wide).
  • Spaces are limited and are on a first come, first serve basis.  Any spaces not reserved by Thursday, September 27, will be available on a first come, first serve bases on Saturday, September 29, beginning at 3pm.
  • Each organization is responsible knowing and understanding the policies and procedures attached, as well as groups are responsible for your own guests.  Individuals and organizations may be held responsible for any issues.

Cougars Unleashed Homecoming Run

Be a part of SIUE's 3rd Annual Cougars Unleashed Homecoming Run on Saturday, September 29!  Race proceeds will benefit SIUE Alumni Association Scholarships for deserving students.  Registration fee includes entry to the race, a t-shirt, swag bag, pancake breakfast provided by Chris Cakes, adult beverages (21+) from Recess Brewing, and family entertainment.  Registration Fee: SIUE Students pay only $5 for either the 5K, 10K, or 1 mile run. Register today at HERE! Call 618-650-3630 with any questions.

The Wildey Celebrates the Art of Fashion

Wildey Theater
The Wildey Celebrates the Art of Fashion is the 6th annual presentation by the Friends of the Wildey. The evening will showcase the fashions of 15 Metro-East retailers, entrepreneurs, and curators, including an Unconventional Design Competition.  VIP tickets are $50 and include preferred seating, a deluxe gift bag, and a 6:00 pre-party.  All seats are reserved and include gift bags.  You may purchase tickets HERE!
