Security Enhanced at Textbook Service

As part of the effort to increase security in Textbook Service, 12 new video surveillance cameras are scheduled to be installed on the Edwardsville campus.

The cameras will be installed in aisles, around registers, and entry/exit points with Textbook Service. The coverage of the cameras will include the entries, book shelves, queueing lines for check out, receiving areas and retail activities.

The new cameras will be used by Campus Police to protect employees and guests and reduce the risk of criminal activity. The cameras are meant to enhance the overall safety and security on campus. In accordance with Section II (F) of the University’s Video Surveillance Policy, Vice Chancellor for Administration Rich Walker has approved the installation of the additional security equipment.

Melody Brimm Employee of the Month, Reception May 21

Please join us in congratulating Melody at a reception:

2:30 p.m.
Tuesday, May 21
Office of Human Resources

You can also send Melody a congratulatory email at mscrogg@siue.edu.

“Melody always goes above and beyond in her job," said Gretchen Fricke, director of Student Services in the School of Education, Health and Human Behavior. "She never interrupts us when we are with students or on the phone, but she still always gets her job done.  She is such a hard worker, but she always has a smile on her face and is very pleasant.  She takes care of us, so we can focus on students.”

“Melody is not only a dedicated and conscientious worker, but takes pride in her work and does so with a smile,"said Mark Janes, building service supervisor. "As she is temporarily displaced with the construction in Founders Hall, Melody is spreading her dedication around the core buildings. I can truly say it is a privilege to be her supervisor.”
