Please Donate to Campus Kitchen at SIUE's Food Drive through Today

Campus Kitchen at SIUE is once again hosting a food drive for “Give Thanks Give Food.”

This themed food drive will collect nonperishable and canned food donations that will be used to make Thanksgiving meal grocery bags for Community Care Center clients in Granite City.

Donations can be purchased through today for free delivery to Campus Kitchen at SIUE at the following link, https://yougivegoods.com/siue-turkeypalooza-2018.

Additionally, donation boxes will be located in various campus locations until Nov. 1 in the Vadalabene Center, Kimmel Student Involvement Center, Lovejoy Library (Information Desk), Peck Hall and Rendleman Hall.

The items requested for the Give Thanks Give Food Drive include:
• Stuffing
• Canned vegetables
• Canned yams and potatoes
• Instant mashed potatoes
• Gravy
• Macaroni and cheese
• Applesauce

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Basic life support training for healthcare professionals covers a variety of subjects, including breathing and cardiac emergencies, defibrillation, CPR, AED and obstructed airway for adults, children and infants. Learn new techniques and sharpen your skills with hands-on experience.Two-year certification card is issued upon course completion.

Heartsaver CPR/AED Certification

Cost: $99

Heartsaver courses are designed for anyone with little or no medical training and cover first-aid basics for the most common first-aid emergencies. Hands-on training also prepares students to perform CPR and use an AED in a safe, timely and effective manner. A two-year certification card is issued upon course completion.

The Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion would like to invite all students, faculty, and staff to the continuation of our SIUE Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Plan Discussions this Fall.

The overall goal of these sessions is to engage the campus community and get buy-in to ensure expected outcomes on our new seven-year Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Plan Goals, Objectives, and Strategies. You may download a copy of the new 2018-2025 Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Plan here.

We will cover specific parts of the Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Plan on the dates below. Presenters from the various areas responsible for implementing those sections of the Plan will be present to discuss, answer questions, and note your concerns.

Buckminster Fuller’s Daughter and Granddaughter to Attend “Bucky Weekend” in Edwardsville, Nov. 9

Two generations of Buckminster Fuller’s family will travel to Edwardsville to celebrate a “Bucky Weekend” honoring the visionary inventor’s legacy in the region.

The Center for Spirituality and Sustainability is hosting an opening reception for its new Fuller Dome Gallery:

Bucky Fuller’s daughter, Allegra Fuller Snyder, his granddaughter Alexandra May, and her husband Sam May will be in attendance.

The opening reception will feature an exhibition of Buckminster Fuller’s art print portfolio entitled Inventions: Twelve Around One. The print portfolio was gifted to the Center for Spirituality and Sustainability in 2017 by the Estate of Buckminster Fuller, and was received into the SIUE University Museum collection in cooperation with the SIUE Foundation.
