Schoenecker Named SIUE School of Business Dean

Tim Schoenecker, PhD, has been named dean of the SIUE School of Business. Schoenecker has served as interim dean since May 2016. His appointment is subject to SIU Board of Trustees approval.

Schoenecker has provided significant service to the School as a collaborative leader. He, in close partnership with faculty and staff, has contributed to the School’s growth and celebrated its accounting and business programs’ 2017 reaccreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), a hallmark of excellence earned by less than five percent of the world’s business schools.

Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Denise Cobb, PhD, extends her thanks to the search committee and its co-chairs, Anne Powell, PhD, and Ram Madupalli, PhD, and commends their choice.

“Tim has been a campus leader in a variety of roles throughout his productive career at SIUE, from University Planning and Budget Council chair to University Congress leadership to successful stints as associate dean, acting dean and interim dean of the School of Business,” Cobb said. “His commitment to SIUE and our community have been apparent during his most recent interim appointment. I am confident that Dean Schoenecker will continue to innovate and set the stage for continued excellence, partnerships and expansions both within his School and at the University level.”

Volunteers Needed to help with SIUE PrideFest 2018, June 24

Dear Allies,

We are days away from PrideFest 2018! This year’s theme is Remember. Rise. Respect.

We invite you to represent our University community by walking with us during the Parade on Sunday, June 24 in St. Louis

Safe Zone of SIUE, sponsored by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, will host a booth at the festival to support the community and to tell visitors great things about our University.

We are looking for volunteers and shift leaders to staff our booth, and help us give away spin-the-wheel prizes. This is a fun time, and the energy at the festival is exciting and positive.

We need volunteers in as little as one-hour increments. Shift leaders are needed in three-hour increments. Shift leaders will serve as a backup to volunteers not able to attend, assist with setup or takedown and call authorities in case of an emergency.

For more information, contact Shelley Price-Williams at shewill@siue.edu or Mary Sue Love at marlove@siue.edu
Visit the event website for festival information at PrideSTL.
