Come Celebrate Kenn Neher's Retirement, May 24

Join us for a reception honoring Vice Chancellor for Administration Kenn Neher.

2-3:30 p.m.
Tuesday, May 24
Morris University Center Meridian Ballroom

Dear Colleagues:

Kenn has announced his intention to retire at the end of May. SIUE is the size of a city with all the complexities of roads, utilities, buildings, people, services, policing, safety and maintenance. Kenn has done a masterful job in managing our city, and he has done so not only skillfully, but also gracefully. We take for granted SIUE's physical assets and smooth operations, because he solves problems before we become aware of them.

I have worked with seven different vice chancellors for administration, four of them at SIUE, and Kenn has been a standout. He has always been an exceptional leader and understands the relationship between academics, student affairs, advancement, and administration, and that we all need to work together to create an environment that enables students to learn. Kenn helped make SIUE a special place to live and work.

We will greatly miss his steady guidance and skillful management. We wish him all the best in his retirement.

Stephen Hansen
Interim Chancellor
