Bill Linden, 1928-2019; Former Philosophy Chair

George “Bill” Linden, of Edwardsville, died peacefully Thursday, Dec. 26, 2019 at Barnes Extended Care Center in Clayton, Mo. He was 91.
A Virginia, Minn. native, Linden joined SIUE in 1962 and was instrumental in the development of the Department of Philosophy and chaired the department for many years, retiring in 1993. He married Eva Dreikurs Ferguson, who was then an SIUE psychology professor, in 1977.
