Five SIUE golfers have earned recognition as Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). Anthony Ruthey, TJ Baker, Alex Eickhoff, Brady Kaufmann and Luke Ludwig have each been named a Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar.
Ruthey becomes the Cougars' first four-time honoree. Baker is receiving the award for the third time. Eickhoff and Ludwig are two-time honorees.

The Electrek American Solar Car Challenge (ASC) made an exciting pit stop at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville on Sunday, July 22. At the July 11 Southern Illinois University Board of Trustees meeting, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Chancellor James T. Minor, PhD, reported on the University’s record fundraising year, spurred on by the annual ONE DAY, ONE SIUE fundraiser, which raised $2,344,574 from more than 2,000 donors. Mallory Steele, Cougar Village resident at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, has been selected as the recipient of the 2024 - 2025 James R. Anderson Housing Scholarship.
Steele hails from Pacific, Mo. and is entering her third year as a Speech Language Pathology major. After graduation she is hoping to attend a graduate program to pursue a master’s degree. With her degrees, Steele hopes to work with stroke patients and those with traumatic brain injuries.
