The Office of Admissions at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville has announced that the fall 2027 undergraduate and graduate admission applications are open as of August 3. Undergraduate and graduate students may apply online at siue.edu/apply.

All undergraduate and graduate students in the U.S. pay in-state tuition. SIUE undergraduate students benefit from one of the lowest tuition rates in Illinois, and new undergrads pay a guaranteed tuition rate for four consecutive years.

International students benefit from special rates that keep tuition affordable for all students.

"Our continued enrollment growth reflects the confidence students and families have in SIUE. They are looking for an institution that offers academic excellence, meaningful support, and an affordable path to a college degree,” said Samantha Ray, director of undergraduate admissions. “We're proud to welcome more students who see SIUE as the right place to achieve their goals."

There is no undergraduate application fee. The graduate application fee is $40. SAT/ACT scores are not required for admission consideration, but students are encouraged to submit them for course placement purposes.

For full scholarship consideration, students are encouraged to apply by November 15. SIUE offers several need- and merit-based scholarships for undergraduate students, including the prestigious Meridian Scholarship, which includes full tuition, mandatory fees, housing, and a meal plan for four years.

Graduate students should apply to the University by January 15, 2027, to be considered for the Competitive Graduate Award, which provides a tuition waiver and stipend to selected students. Scholarship details are available at siue.edu/paying-for-college.

As SIUE continues to make education accessible to all, the University provides a robust online education catalog. To date, 18.59% of SIUE students take classes fully online. This includes 57.81% of graduate students and 11.69% of undergraduates. Undergraduates can choose from seven online bachelor's degrees and an online general education pathway.
