SIUE’s Anderson Repeats as OVC Pitcher of the Week
SIUE softball's McKayla Anderson was named the co-Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week.
The sophomore right-hander from Algonquin, Illinois, tossed a two-hitter Saturday in SIUE's three-game sweep of OVC rival Morehead State. She also tossed one scoreless inning against Minnesota.
For the week, she posted a perfect 0.00 earned run average in eight innings pitched, allowing two hits, walking one and striking out two. Anderson now holds a season record of 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA.
Anderson, who was the OVC Pitcher of the Week last week, shared this award with Tennessee Tech's Emily York.
SIUE returns to action Wednesday for a 5 p.m. contest at Saint Louis. The Cougars return home to Cougar Field this weekend for a three-game series against Eastern Illinois.
