SIUE Joined Forces over the Weekend to “Make a Difference”
On Saturday, approximately 250 students, staff and faculty from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville took up shovels, rakes and more to work on various community projects as part of the National Make a Difference Day.
SIUE volunteers worked at Willoughby Farm in Collinsville, Arlington Wetlands in Pontoon Beach, Granite City Community Gardens, Sunshine Cultural Arts Center in East St. Louis, La Vista CSA in Godfrey and the Metro East Humane Society in Edwardsville.
National Make a Difference Day, which was Oct. 25, is the largest national day of service. Volunteers united with a common purpose, “to improve the lives of others.”
