SALUTE is a National Honor Society devoted solely to recognizing the outstanding scholastic achievements of Veteran college students.  Join and be a part of the Green Graduation Celebration and SALUTE induction ceremony hosted each spring semester!

Benefits of Individual Membership Includes

• One-time payment for lifetime membership
• Ability to purchase and wear graduation regalia to demonstrate academic achievements as military/veterans at the graduation ceremony
• A certificate and military-style challenge coin commemorating the individual’s membership in SALUTE and their specific level of academic achievement
• Participation in the SIUE chapter induction ceremony in the spring semester.
• Resume and application component
• Opportunities to network, as well as receive and give assistance to fellow members
• Participate in future SALUTE programs

Associated Fees

• $35 (lifetime membership) fee for initial membership
• Additional fees for purchase of SALUTE cords and stoles

Eligibility

• Undergraduate student with a minimum 3.00 GPA who have completed 12 credit hours
• Alpha Tier GPA: 3.75-4.00
• Bravo Tier GPA: 3.50-3.74
• Charlie Tier GPA: 3.25-3.49
• Delta Tier GPA: 3.00-3.24
• Graduate students need to have completed 9 credit hours, hold at least a 3.5 GPA, and will be classified as “SALUTE Gold Member”

To Apply (please pay special attention to items required for turn in at the Veteran Help Desk)

• Please visit SALUTE Payment and purchase an Individual Membership 
• Purchase Optional Graduation Stole (White/Blue) for undergraduate, or (Gold/Blue) for graduate, etc. SALUTE Graduation Regalia
• DO NOT buy the red/white/blue honor cord.  We provide those at no cost. 
• Certificates and Coins will be distributed at the Green Graduation Celebration and SALUTE induction ceremony.
• Turn in the following to the Military and Veteran Resource Center or email the following to veteranservices@siue.edu:
  • Receipt from Individual Membership Purchase
  • Unofficial Transcript; (retrieved from CougarNet)
  • DD214, NOBE (If you do not have a DD214 or NOBE other forms of proof may be submitted for verification)
