Southern Illinois University Edwardsville’s International Education Week began on Nov. 17 with an opening flag ceremony, representing 25 countries, launching a celebratory sequence of cultural appreciation and fellowship. As of April 17, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) is offering the Geographic Enhancement Opportunity Plus (GEO+) Award to continuing degree-seeking international undergraduate students who have successfully completed at least 24 credit hours at SIUE while enrolled on an F-1 or J-1 visa. SIUE Welcomes more than 140 New International Students

A total of 140 new international students enrolled in the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville spring session, according to Cheryl Borowiak, interim executive director of the Office of International Affairs. To date, SIUE has 825 international students, representing 69 countries, enrolled for the spring semester.

The fall semester at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville is promising to be one of it’s most diverse yet. SIUE welcomed nearly 400 newcomers to the campus community on Wednesday, Aug. 15, one of its largest cohorts of international students, at its biannual International Student Orientation. These newly enrolled students bring the total number from abroad to approximately 950 on campus, further enriching the diverse cultural landscape for which the University is known.
