Purpose
This program offers partial support for print and electronic publication costs as well as production costs for exhibits and performances that are related to faculty and staff members’ scholarly activity. It is expected that publication and production costs are written into the budgets of externally-sponsored projects when allowed by the sponsor. All internal funding requirements must be met before publication and production cost funds can be accessed except under extenuating circumstances.
Award Description
Funding is available on a matching basis. The source of the matching funds can be, but is not limited to, the applicant’s SIUE academic unit, externally-sponsored projects, and personal sources. The Graduate School will provide up to 75% (capped at $1,000) of the eligible publication or production cost.
Eligibility
All full-time continuing members of the faculty (tenure and non-tenure track) and administrative professional staff are eligible. All faculty and staff may receive one award up to a maximum of $1,000 per fiscal year. Faculty and staff with at least one active externally sponsored project during the current fiscal year are eligible for a second award up to a maximum of $1,000; these funds cannot be pooled into a single request.
The following publication costs are eligible for support: page, reprint, and book subvention costs, including costs for color printing when necessary for content clarity.
