Welcome to the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering!
Our programs feature outstanding faculty members who are dedicated to educating students and advancing knowledge through our state-of-the-art facilities and curriculum. The mechanical engineering program had its first enrolled students in 1990 and has now become one of the largest programs on campus while still maintaining reasonably small class sizes and accessibility to students outside of the classroom.
The mechatronics and robotics engineering program began in May 2016 and is rapidly growing. Our undergraduate students have opportunities to be engaged in numerous extra-curricular activities including getting involved in design competition teams, taking a leadership position in a professional student organization, or be engaged in undergraduate research activities. The St. Louis metropolitan area also provides ample opportunities for internships or co-ops to gain professional experience. Our graduate students have opportunities to be engaged in cutting-edge research with outstanding faculty members, some of which are internationally known experts in their fields of research.
