Dr. Fries joined SIUE in Fall 2008, teaching and researching topics in transportation engineering. He earned his BS in Civil Engineering at the University of Delaware and his MS and PhD at Clemson University in South Carolina. He specializes in intelligent transportation systems, traffic operations, and transportation security. He is a licensed professional engineer in South Carolina, has won several teaching awards, and has published over 90 peer-reviewed journal articles, conference proceedings, textbooks, or research reports.
