Professor Valerie Vogrin Fiction Reading, Thursday, February 27

Professor Valerie Vogrin will read from her new book, things we’ll need for the coming difficulties, on Thursday, February 27th at 4:30 in the Cougar Store, located in the Morris University Center.
Winner of the 2018 Spokane Prize for Short Fiction, this new collection of short stories is out now from Willow Springs Books and will be available for purchase at the reading.
The reading is free, and open to the public.

Dr. Jessica DeSpain Receives NEH Grant

Dr. Jessica DeSpain was recently awarded a $50,000 grant from the National Endowment of the Humanities in support of “The Hub,” a collaborative digital humanities initiative focused on recovering forgotten or little-known literature by women authors in digital environments. Tiana Clark's Poetry Collection is a Finalist for the Kate Tufts Discovery Award

Professor Tiana Clark’s poetry collection, I Can’t Talk About the Trees Without the Blood, has been selected as one of five finalists for the 2020 Kate Tufts Discovery Award. This prestigious award, administered by Claremont Graduate University (CGU), was established to honor a first book by a poet of promise. The Kate Tufts Discovery Award provides the recipient with $10,000. The winners will be announced in late February; an awards ceremony and public reading in April will be held ...
