SHIPWRECK
The following ten people have been shipwrecked
on a desert island. A boat is found on the island, which is
large enough to provide escape for only five of the people.
The five people that take the boat will be saved, but the
five people that remain on the island will die there. Assume
that you are given the responsibility of selecting the five
persons that are to escape in the boat -- whom would you select?
1. Matt Slade: A 25-year-old
department store manager. Married, one infant child (not on
the island), and in good health.
2. Mark Harrison: A 47-year-old
minister. Unmarried and in good health.
3. Rosie Smyth: A 23-year-old
single female who admits to being a ------------. She is in
good health.
4. Mary Slade: The 23-year-old
wife of Matt Slade (#1) and in good health.
5. Robert Anderson: A 72-year-old
retired corporation president. A widower with a recent history
of heart trouble.
6. Elizabeth Sand: A 28-year-old
unmarried account executive for a large chain store. In good
health.
7. James Hall: A 43-year-old
married man (family not on island) with a severe alcoholic
problem.
8. Debby Jones: A 22-year-old
unmarried high school teacher. In good health.
9. Bill Maxwell: A 33-year-old
married brain surgeon. In good health.
10. Judy Jackson: A 27-year-old
divorcee with one small child (not on the island). In good
health.
