Subject Searching in ILLINET Online

Unlike the Any Word Anywhere search, which uses keywords, the Browse Subject search uses special terms to organize the records by subject. These are called Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH for short). If you enter your keywords as a Browse Subject search, you may get limited results.

For example, the terms acquired immune deficiency syndrome entered as a Browse Subject search would produce zero results.  However, if you searched using the LCSH term, AIDS (Disease) you would see the Library has over 50 records on this topic.
