SCT Luminis Support Site

Support for SIUE web pages within the SCT Luminis Content Management System is provided by the Faculty Technology Center.

If your website is currently NOT in Luminis:

1)  Contact us to set up an initial meeting.  We'll go over what your options are, what you can and can't do in Luminis, etc.  Come to the meeting with any changes or restructuring you may want done to your site during the migration into Luminis.

2)  After the initial meeting, we will build the skeleton for your site.  This may take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, depending on our current workload and how many sites are in line ahead of yours to go into Luminis.

3)  We will contact you when your site skeleton is complete.  Then you and/or anyone who will be editing your Luminis website, will need to attend Luminis training.  The training will last approximately two hours.  Training will consist of usage of the Luminis editor and basic Luminis training, instruction on what you need to do to comply with new web accessibility laws of the state of Illinois, and basic web image optimization.

4)  After training, you can begin moving content from your old website into your new website.  We highly recommend you start this right away while training is fresh in your mind.  If you need help moving a lot of content, we can assist you in moving your content.
5)  Let us know when you are ready for your new website to go live.

If your website is already in Luminis:

1)  If you have already attended training, you are good to go.  You can login to Luminis using the login link at the top left of this page.

2) 
If you have NOT attended Luminis training, you need to do so.  You can register for Luminis training using the Register for Luminis Training graphic link on the left of this page.

Other Luminis Info:

  • Faculty & Staff who need to access Luminis will login using their e-id and password after their e-id has been given access to Luminis.
  • Students who will be working in Luminis will need to obtain a "Special Account for Luminis".  Their supervisor or professor can acquire this special account by contacting:  techhelp@siue.edu.
  • Luminis Accessibility Training is mandatory for anyone editing pages within Luminis.  If you haven't attended this training, CLICK HERE.
  • NOTE:  Before you can attend Luminis training, the website you will be working with must already be in Luminis.  If your website is not in Luminis and you want it to be, contact us to set up an initial meeting.

If you have already been through Luminis training and you have questions about how to use Luminis, please first use the links at the left to help answer your question(s) or troubleshoot your particular issue.  After using the support links at the left and you still have a question or an issue, the FTC will be more than happy to help you out.
