Benefits

SIUE provides its employees and their dependents with a vast array of benefits. The Office of Human Resources staff is committed to providing excellent service to our employees.  As an employee, it is your responsibility to notify Human Resources immediately when any of the following life changes occur and may impact your eligibility or your dependent's eligibility:

  • Newborn or newly acquired dependent
  • Marriage
  • Divorce, legal separation or annulment
  • Death of a spouse or dependent
  • Change in your spouse's or your dependent's employment status that affects eligibility under the plan
  • Spouse who is a dependent of yours who is provided group insurance through their employer
  • Dependent no longer meets eligibility criteria or becomes ineligible for other coverage, such as dropping out of college or gaining coverage under their own policy
  • Court order resulting in you gaining or losing custody of a dependent
  • Change in Public Aid recipient status or Medicare status
  • You go on and return from a leave of absence
  • You change your home address
  • There is a change in your Medicare status or if another plan is primary
  • Your payroll deductions do not appear to be correct for the amount of coverage you selected
